Behavior Therapist
Duties and Responsibilities
As a Behavior Therapist at the Rochester Center for Autism, you will be expected to perform but not limited to the following duties:
- Provide direct one-on-one therapy to young children with autism
- Record data for each child on a daily basis to track progress
- Provide children with snacks/lunch when appropriate
- Record behavior notes at the end of each session, as appropriate
- Communicate any concerns/questions regarding therapy to appropriate Lead Therapist
- Report any ongoing/unresolved therapy issues to Program Coordinator/Program Director
- Report any issue regarding employee conflict to HR Director
- Interact with parents on a daily basis
- Adhere to the company policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Manual
- Help to keep the Center clean with various assigned projects and nightly/weekly checklists
- Learn the appropriate communication system for the students
- Manage difficult behaviors according to behavior principles and specific plans when necessary
- Manage individual, personal behaviors, feelings, moods so that they do not interfere or compromise teaching
- Receive and act on constructive feedback to improve skills
- Manage personal care of students
